Few things stir the coffee industry like the launch of a new La Marzocco espresso machine. Over the last few months anticipation has grown about a new, smaller, and less expensive successor to the La Marzocco Linea Mini<\/a>, which launched in 2015<\/a> and has proven to be a major disruptor to the home espresso machine market. Now here in 2022 we can officially report on the release of the next espresso machine in the La Marzocco Home line: The La Marzocco Linea Micra.<\/p>\n

Teased in message board leaks appearing in late October, Micra’s debut comes amidst building hype: the machine is smaller in every way than the Linea Mini, with a 30% reduction in footprint and a smaller price tag, per LM Senior Product Manager Scott Guglielmino. “Micra is\u00a0the first time we\u2019ve set out to make a truly<\/em>\u00a0home espresso machine, one that lives up to the standards of La Marzocco,” Guglielmino tells Sprudge. “Reliability, high performance, and consistency are what we pride ourselves on, and this is a temperature stable home espresso machine that will last a lifetime.”<\/p>\n

“If you have a need for light commercial, or plan to someday serve coffee at your local farmers market, the Linea Mini is a great choice,” adds Guglielmino. “But if you’re looking for the right home espresso option for daily use or the ultimate dinner party machine, the Micra is perfect.”<\/p>\n

The Linea Micra is the first La Marzocco espresso machine designed for dedicated use\u00a0in the home. In order to achieve this, La Marzocco has created their smallest machine\u00a0yet without compromising the core values of quality, performance, and reliability.\u00a0This machine allows for the rapidly growing number of passionate coffee drinkers to\u00a0recapture the caf\u00e9 experience in the comfort of their own homes.<\/p>\n

The Linea Micra features dual stainless-steel boilers; one dedicated for steaming and\u00a0one dedicated for coffee brewing, both with PID temperature control. These dual boilers\u00a0allow for precise temperature control of the dedicated coffee boiler as well as high quality\u00a0steam able to produce incredible microfoam.\u00a0Pressure is created using a rotary vane pump, the same style used in espresso machines\u00a0in caf\u00e9s around the world. This robust pump produces the steady and consistent pressure\u00a0that is required to brew incredible espresso.\u00a0Additionally, the Linea Micra features a first-of-its-kind convertible portafilter. The\u00a0convertible portafilter allows for home baristas to easily change between spouted and\u00a0bottomless portafilter styles with a single device.<\/p>\n

The Linea Micra also conserves counterspace while offering a quick 5-minute heat up\u00a0time.
